Smart Fridges Across a 1,000 Person Office
What the Facilities Team Said
Feedback from the MediaCity facilities team highlights that “the variety of items means that everyone can find something,” with tenants particularly liking that “we have options such as porridge and pot noodles, as this allows people who work non-conventional hours the option of something warm and more sustaining,” as well as “the cereal and energy bar selection.” The solution has also been well received in terms of usability and design, with feedback noting that “the fridge door provides ease and eliminates any issues with items getting stuck,” and that “tenants seem to like the style of the vending machine and enjoy the options.” The team confirmed they would “definitely recommend it as it’s a good solution with excellent customer service.”
The Brief
This project involved the installation of three AI Smart Fridge Pro units across MediaCity, located in the heart of Salford, Manchester. With over 1,000 staff working across the site, the client was looking for a modern refreshment solution that could serve large volumes of people while fitting seamlessly into a premium, design-led workspace.
Each smart fridge was stocked with a wide range of products, including crisps, cold drinks, juices, chocolate bars, protein bars, cereal bars, porridge pots, and noodle pots. The AI technology allows users to simply scan their card, open the fridge, take what they need, and walk away. The system automatically identifies the products removed and charges the card accordingly, with all pricing clearly displayed on the screen.
The Outcome
The solution delivered immediate benefits across the site. Staff gained quick, reliable access to refreshments throughout the day, supporting energy levels and morale across a large and busy office environment. The smart fridges added visible value to shared spaces, reduced friction around food access, and aligned strongly with the modern expectations of a high-profile workplace like MediaCity.
Beyond functionality, the installation complemented the premium look and feel the client wanted to achieve. The smart fridges supported the client’s sustainability goals through reduced waste and smarter stock control, and enhanced the overall workplace experience.
Warehouse Vending Solution at Woodlands
Client Feedback
“We have recently installed our first vending machine on the new site, long overdue. We chose Bitesize Vending, a small, local business that gives back. They return a portion of sales to be spent on our employees, and also donate to our chosen charity. They have been great to work with, and the machine has already proven to be very popular over the past month. A small improvement that makes a big difference.”
The Brief
This project involved installing a vending solution into a busy warehouse site in Bradford, supporting an active workforce operating across physically demanding shifts. The aim was to provide reliable, on-site access to snacks and drinks that matched the pace and energy requirements of the role.
The Solution
The machine was stocked with a practical mix of cold energy drinks, protein bars, and everyday snacks to help staff refuel throughout the day. Product selection is reviewed regularly, with staff encouraged to suggest items, ensuring the offer stays relevant, well used, and aligned with what the team actually wants.
The Outcome
Alongside supporting energy levels and morale on site, the solution also creates added value by contributing funds back into employee initiatives and charitable causes. This reinforces a positive workplace culture, strengthens engagement, and supports the wider community beyond the workplace.
Vending in Major UK Shopping Centres
The Brief
This project involved a national rollout of self-service retail contracts across nine shopping centres, spanning locations from Northampton through to Newcastle. Working closely with Flourish and individual centre management teams, we deployed over twenty machines across multiple sites, tailoring each installation to suit local footfall patterns, dwell time, and shopper behaviour.
The objective was to create high-performing retail points within busy shopping environments, maximising revenue while fitting seamlessly into each centre’s layout and customer flow.
The Solution
The rollout included a mix of snack and drink vending, alongside trial installations of specialist concepts such as beauty machines and an ice cream machine. Each location was approached individually, with product mix, pricing, and machine placement optimised to maximise revenue from the available footfall.
This data-led, collaborative approach ensured every site was configured to achieve the strongest possible commercial performance, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model across the estate.
The Outcome
Managing a rollout of this scale required strong logistics and operational capability. Ongoing servicing, restocking, maintenance, and performance monitoring were coordinated across all sites, providing valuable experience in managing a large, distributed machine estate.
This work led to flagship locations such as The Bridges Shopping Centre, which welcomes over ten million visitors annually, where four snack and drink machines were installed to support high-volume demand and maximise return from one of the UK’s busiest retail environments.
24/7 Office Vending Solution for PropCall
Client Feedback
“The vending machine has been a huge hit at PropCall. Our employees had been asking for a convenient snacks and drinks solution for some time, and after meeting Toby and seeing what Bitesize had to offer, it was an easy decision for us. The restocking process is seamless, and our colleagues really appreciate being able to suggest which items are stocked. The added bonus of generating funds from the machine to support our social budget has been a great perk too.”
The Brief

With the site operating twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the client needed a reliable refreshment setup that worked consistently across all shifts.
The requirement was for a solution that could support day and night teams equally, providing dependable access to snacks and drinks without creating additional workload for on-site staff.
The Solution
The installation was completed with minimal disruption to the workplace. The vending solution now provides staff with easy access to snacks and drinks throughout the day and night, ensuring all teams are equally supported regardless of working hours.
Product selection is reviewed regularly, with colleagues encouraged to suggest items, helping to keep the offer relevant, well used, and aligned with what the team actually wants.
